One of the many benefits of living in northern Nevada is the access to many hiking trails. If you have been on any serious hiking trail, you probably noticed quite a few are seasoned hikers. You can usually spot them by their moisture-wicking active wear and their trekking poles. As it turns out, trekking poles provide a variety of benefits to seasoned and amateur hikers alike.

Living in Reno affords us an almost endless supply of hiking trails, as we live at the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, with thousands of miles of hiking trails in our area alone. Whether hiking part of the 2,653 mile Pacific Crest Trail, the 165 mile-long Tahoe Rim Trail, or the 3 mile Picnic Rock Viewpoint Trail that provides a dramatic view of Lake Tahoe, there is something for every fitness level.
