SFG Gives Back to Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern Nevada

Psychological Space

As a part of the Ronald McDonald House Charities Chef Program, volunteers from the community come together to provide guests with a home-cooked meal each night. Guests at the Ronald McDonald House are families that have a child receiving care from a local hospital and live 30 or more miles outside of Reno. In June 2019, SFG had the opportunity to prepare a home-cooked, healthy dinner for the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House. After SFG dropped off the meal, we received a tour and learned how the Ronald McDonald House services families in need.

The Ronald McDonald House is mostly run by volunteers who donate supplies and their time. The house offers families with a safe place to stay, a clean kitchen, a family room, a playroom, an outdoor patio complete with a kid’s playhouse, and laundry facilities.

Learning about the house and hearing stories about some of the families that have stayed at the Ronald McDonald House made this an interactive, impactful, and fun way to share SFG’s service heart. If you’d like to learn more about preparing a meal for the Ronald McDonald House, please visit their website here.

Phishing SMS/Text Message Scams on the Rise: Here’s What to Do

Auto Loan Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP) Coverage

It’s no secret that as soon as you drive a new car off the lot, it instantly begins depreciating in value. An auto depreciates the most in the first few years after it leaves the lot. For most consumers, this is not a major concern because they do not plan to sell their vehicle in the near future; but what if the vehicle was in an accident shortly after it was purchased and the insurance company deemed it a total loss? GAP insurance (guaranteed asset protection insurance) may help in these situations.

SFG Library: Financial Capital Reads

Here at SFG, we support an ongoing educational culture. One of the ways we do this is holding an employee book club meeting several times per year to share about nonfiction books we’ve read. Additionally, we keep a library of books in our conference room — anyone is welcome to comb through it and take a book home! These books all relate to one of our Four Capitals — Financial, Physical, Intellectual, and Psychological — and offer insight into the approach we are so committed to. Here is a list of the books we currently have related to Financial Capital.
