On May 30, 2019, the Soroptimist International of Truckee Meadows (SITM) hosted their annual Thanks to Youth Awards in Reno, NV. Each year Schultz Financial Group and team members support the event by sponsoring a table and attending a luncheon that acknowledges young students who make an amazing impact in our community. Scholarships were awarded to eight high school students for their academic success, community involvement, and perseverance to achieve their goals. There were also eight young Unsung Heroes awarded with $200 shopping sprees based on their commitment to education, their families, and improving the lives of others through community service. This event continues to inspire and is a good reminder of the impression the younger generation can have to elevate themselves and their community at such a young age.

The Soroptimist International of Truckee Meadows is part of a global volunteer organization dedicated to empowering women and girls to lead healthy and productive lives through programs and initiatives focused on education, equality, empowerment, and diversity & fellowship. Vicki Schultz has been a member since 1994.
